Dr Roger Ng received a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Clothing Study from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After that, he pursued a M.A. in Philosophy and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include: aesthetics, fashion design and communication, 3-D pattern design for fashion.
Roger is an amateur photographer with artworks being exhibited in the Center of Fine Art Photography in 2011 and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Library Gallery in 2012. He is a Tibetan Buddhist follower and he published a photography book on Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage.
Roger had run his family business in garment manufacturing, trading and retailing for eight years before he joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and commenced his academic career. His services in the Hong Kong apparel industry have never stopped. He is the Chairman of the Chinese Textile Mills Association.
